ABOUT US

The Susie P Charitable Foundation was set up in 2007 by Ian Pruchniewicz. It was in May of that year that Ian’s Wife Susan, died of metastatic liver cancer.

During Susie’s 2 year battle with the illness, she spent many hours in hospital having chemotherapy treatment. During these visits she would occasionally see young children being treated for cancer and she would be very upset at seeing this situation. As she told her husband Ian “I have had a good and happy life, but these children have only just begun life’s journey and need to be helped get through this difficult illness to be able to fulfil their potential in this World”.

Susie was only 56 when she passed away, which is too young and as the inscription on grave says, she was a “star that burn twice as bright, but only half as long”  - a beautiful, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend to many people.

Ian decided to use funds that were part of Susie’s estate to create the Susie P Charitable Foundation with the specific objective to support “children with cancer, under the age of 16, in the West Yorkshire area”.

The Foundation has supported a number of projects involving other charitable organisations in the West Yorkshire area to help with projects that can be funded in any other way. These projects can be seen on the projects page.
